DIRECTOR
Brenda Kay Fowler is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She holds a masters degree in elementary education with a minor in Special Ed. Mrs. Fowler also earned Certification in Mid-Management from Southwest Texas State University. Mrs. Fowler has been involved in education for 37 years. She has taught grades Kindergarten through six, served as school administrator at the elementary, middle and high school levels in the Huntsville and Austin Independent School Districts and Director of Student Support Services for the Round Rock Independent School District. Currently, Mrs. Fowler is the Director of the Mt. Sinai Christian Academy. Mrs. Fowler is also pursuing a doctoral degree in educational administration at the University of Texas in Austin.

Mrs. Fowler has been married for 24 years to Ronald Fowler. They are the proud parents of three sons. Mrs. Fowler loves her "Babies" and believes that her work here at MSCA is a calling from God that she chooses to obey.


**Mrs. Fowler was the first principal of Barbara Jordan Elementary School!

BABY MOSES CLASS (12mths - 2 yrs)
LEAD TEACHER, Cynthia Venegas, a native Texan, received her Child Development Associate (CDA) degree from Austin Community College. While taking early childhood in high school, Ms Cynthia realized how much she loved working with children. As a result, she has been working with children and their families for the past 9 years. Knowing that she is making a difference in the lives of children is the high light of her job.

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Leticia Tovar was born in Mexico. Ms Letty's childcare experience spans 9 years. She loves working with children, especially infants and toddlers.

PSALMS CLASS (2yr Olds)
LEAD TEACHER , Nastachia Wilford is a native Austinite and graduate of Lyndon Baines Johnson High School. She has eight years of experience caring for young children. Ms. Nastachia states that having children of her own has heightened her awareness of the importance of quality childcare and she strives to provide that type of care to children at MSCA. Ms Nastachia is currently attending Austin Community College and working towards her Child Development Certification.

JONAH CLASS (3 yr Olds)
LEAD TEACHER, Tracy Gentry has been teaching preschool for 20 years. She's lived all of her life in Austin. Ms. Tracy believes that children learn best through hands on experiences, so your child will be engaged in activities that promote learning through play. Ms Tracy is currently enrolled at Austin Community College, where she is finishing her degree in Early Childhood Education.

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Deborah Gomez has 8 years of experience working in childcare. She has been employed at MSCA for 2 years. She enjoys working with children and is continuously amazed at how much children at this age are able to absorb and retain.

RUTH CLASS (3-4 yr Olds)
LEAD TEACHER, Angela Atkins is a native Austinite, who lived in Detroit Michigan for a short period. Ms Angela has taught young children for 22 years. Her work experience as a teacher and Assistant Director include; Austin Community Nursery School for 3 years, University Avenue Church of Christ (ELC) for 9 years, and The Texas Association of School Board for 4+ years. Ms Angela currently serves as a Teacher at MSCA. She has obtained her Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA). Ms Angela loves and respects all children and believes she can make a difference in a child's life.

LEAD TEACHER, Rachel Nolen grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms Nolen, whose father was also a teacher, has a master degree in Education from UT Austin, with certifications in Early Childhood, and Special Education. She has taught for 30+ years. Ms Nolen taught English in Japan, worked at the Austin School for the Deaf, and taught with Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in Austin. For the past eight years, she has taught with Austin Independent School District and is currently serving as a Teacher at MSCA. She has a wonderful husband and three great kids; the two youngest are still in college. Ms. Nolen believes ALL children can learn, and that some just need a little extra help and love!

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Mary Galvan works with Ruth Class (3 year olds) in the mornings and a with Baby Moses Class (Toddlers) in the afternoons. Ms Mary has 14 years experience working with 3-4 year olds. Ms Mary has obtained her Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification from Austin Community College.

ESTHER CLASS (4 yr Olds)
LEAD TEACHER, Gwen Dyer-Mitchell is a native of Michigan, she received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Ms Gwen retired after serving students in the Austin Independent School District for 23 years. She loves working with children and believes they all are capable of learning. She also believes that when the parents and the teachers work together, the sky is the limit for the children.

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Joyce Harris has 19+ years of experience working with children. Ms Harris believes God called her to this career. According to her, the sparkle a child has in his/her eyes when they have learned is all the reward she needs to keep doing her job.

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Sylvia Patridge was born and raised in Orange, Texas. Ms. Patridge attended Lamar University. She has 15 years of experience working with three and four year olds. Ms. Patridge�s work experiences also include teaching and providing support and care for hearing impaired students. Her winning smile lets students and parents alike know that they are important to her.

TEACHER ASSISTANT, Ms. Chiffon Neal is a native Austinite and of has a degree in Education from Huston Tillotson College. Prior to joining the MSCA team, Ms. Neal was employed by the Austin Independent School District. Her most memorable experience with teaching has been helping students achieve high scores in reading on standardized tests. Ms. Neal truly believes all students can and will learn. Ms. Neal�s classroom experiences include working with grades Pre-kindergarten through six.
